Goodbye VPN
Azure App Proxy is a service offered by Microsoft Azure that allows organizations to securely access internal web applications from external networks without the need for a virtual private network (VPN). This can greatly reduce the complexity and cost of managing remote access to internal resources.
One scenario where a company benefited from using Azure App Proxy is a retail organization. The company had several internal web applications that were essential for their daily operations, such as a inventory management system and a point-of-sale system. These applications were only accessible from within the company’s internal network and required employees to connect to a VPN in order to access them from outside the office.
